Welcome!
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Christ is risen! And welcome to our parish website!
It is my prayer that, through this website, you might become more acquainted with the work our Lord has given for us to do. Here, at St. Innocent, we are deeply committed to being obedient to Christ and putting Him first, as we strategically retreat from a dying world! In short, we seek to live in the Church and go the world; not the other way around. If you are drawn to this way of life, please join us!
We are an old-calendar Russian Orthodox parish under the Moscow Patriarchate, located in Redford Township, named in honor of St. Innocent, the first Bishop of Irkutsk (an Eastern Siberian city). Today, the parish is comprised predominately of converts: Americans of diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds. We also have a lovely Chapel, dedicated to St. John the Wonderworker of Shanghai and San Francisco, which is on our property and open 24/7 for prayer.
Praying you come and see, I am

A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO OUR VISITORS:
- You are welcome here. No one is judging you.
- We will not do anything to embarrass you, or that will make you uncomfortable.
- Our children worship with us. If you have young children, they are welcome here, too. If you need to step out for a minute for any reason, you are not disturbing us. We expect children to be raised in the Church and to accomplish that, they have to be IN THE CHURCH.
- If you are an Orthodox Christian, and you have prepared yourself to receive Holy Communion according to your Spiritual Father’s direction, be sure to introduce yourself to a priest before the service. Once you have informed the priest of your status, you are welcome to approach the chalice.
- We ask all who attend the Divine Services of the Church to dress modestly, as we are coming into the presence of the Living God (i.e. please refrain from wearing shorts, t-shirts, revealing dresses or blouses, etc.; we also ask that women cover their heads as is the dignified custom from ancient times).
We are part of the worldwide Orthodox Church – the oldest Christian Church in the world. We welcome you to pray with us and grow with us, by the power of God's infinite mercy and love. You are warmly invited to "come and see."
